About Motobrix

Youth-led social innovation hub empowering entrepreneurs to build climate-smart startups and transform communities through sustainable solutions.

Our Mission

To empower young innovators in informal settlements to lead sustainable change by building climate-smart enterprises and practical solutions that tackle unemployment, inequality, and environmental challenges.

Our Vision

A world where every young person has the tools, space, and support to turn small ideas into big impact — transforming communities through innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.

Our Story

Motobrix Innovation Centre was born from the belief that the most powerful solutions come from the margins. Based in Mathare, Nairobi, we work at the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and community leadership, creating pathways for youth-led transformation.

We believe innovation must come from the margins to truly change the centre. Our model is grassroots-driven, participatory, and justice-oriented. At Motobrix, youth are not beneficiaries — they are builders.

Since our inception, we have transformed over 300 tonnes of waste into clean energy, trained hundreds of young people, and created sustainable employment opportunities in one of Nairobi's most vibrant informal settlements.

Our Impact

Transforming Lives Through Innovation

Since our inception, we have trained over 300 youth, planted 2,000+ trees, recycled 300 tonnes of waste, and created employment for 60+ young people. But our impact goes beyond numbers — we're building a movement of young changemakers who are transforming their communities from within.

Our work has been recognized by President Uhuru Kenyatta, featured in UN exhibitions, and celebrated by organizations like the Africa Impact Initiative and University of Toronto. But most importantly, we're creating dignified futures in every slum we touch.
